2011 Swimathon

 The Portishead Swimathon 2011
Saturday 26th March at Parish Wharf Leisure Centre, Portishead

The swimathon is an established and popular event in the local calendar, thoroughly enjoyed by all participants.

In the past 14 years since the event has been held at Parish Wharf, we have raised over £115,000

If you haven't been involved before please consider entering and joining in the fun and laughter of the day and the opportunity to benefit from the funds raised.

Portishead Rotary Past President: Chris May, with a number of the swimmers

In 2010, 74 teams took part and raised just over £9,500

For this fantasitic acheivement we extend our gratitude to all the sponsors who generously supported this event, with donations which covered all our costs and expenses.  A list of the sponsors is available by clicking on the link below:

This year we are supporting the following charities:

Cancer Research UK

MacMillan Cancer Support

and Cystic Fibrosis South West

as well as

Schools Projects and local groups and other local charities

So, how does the Swimathon work?

Teams of six swim at their own pace (it's not a race) for 40minutes and through sponsorship RAISE AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE.

Schools, Guides, Brownies, Scouts, Clubs enter teams and many others also take part.  Why not put in a team, or teams, to support your organisation.

You have the option to request up to 50% of what you raise!

Send in your entry form AS SOON AS POSSIBLE !
