So Why Join Your Local Rotary Club?

Service Opportunities :  Club members have many opportunities for humanitarian service, both locally and internationally, addressing such concerns as healhcare, hunger, poverty and the environment.  Rotarians experience the fulfilment that comes from giving back to the community.

Professional Networking:  The founding principle of Rotary was to meet periodically to enjoy the camaraderie and enlarge one's circle of business and professional acquaintances.  Today,  Rotary club members represent a diverse cross section of the community's professional men and women.

Friendship:  Rotary was founded on fellowship: an ideal that remains a major attraction of membership today.  Our club projects offer additional opportunities to develop enduring friendships.  Rotary club members who travel have friendly contacts in almost every city in the world.

Entertainment:  Social activiies give Rotarians a chance to have fun.  At Portishead Rotary such activities include: parties, formal dinners, barbecues, barn dances, days out, guest speakers and many more activities that offer diversions from today's demanding professional and personal schedules.

Leadership Development:  Team building, fundraising, public speaking, planning, organisation and communication are just some of the leadership skills that club members can exercise and enhance.  A Rotary member gains further experience in learning how to motivate, inspire and guide others.
